SMS Terms

These are the program terms for Budgetoria's text messaging, operated by Loutronics, d/b/a Budgetoria. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Program name

Budgetoria — SMS money coach.

What the program does

Budgetoria texts your family a short daily budget digest, answers questions you text it about your own spending, asks the occasional question about how to categorize a transaction, and warns you when a category is heading over budget. Messages go to the mobile numbers registered by the household, and — if a member switches it on — to accountability partners they nominate.

Who receives messages

• The account holder, who opts in during signup.
• Household members the account holder adds. We text a new member a code, and they receive nothing else until they reply with it.
• Accountability partners — up to three people outside the household whom an adult member nominates. We text them one invitation containing a code; they receive nothing else unless they reply with it. They can reply NO to decline, and we will not ask again.

Message types

• Daily budget digests.
• Budget alerts and heads-ups.
• Questions about how to categorize a transaction, and our replies to what you text us.
• Account and billing notices.
• Verification codes when a number is added.
• Accountability nudges, which name only a first name and a budget category — never an amount, limit, percentage, merchant, or household name.

How often

Household members: message frequency varies, typically 1–5 messages per day. Accountability partners: at most one message per watched category per calendar month, plus a single invitation.

How to opt in

Enter your mobile number and tick the consent box at budgetoria.com or during signup at app.budgetoria.com; or, if someone added you, reply to our text with the code we sent. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message, from any number, at any time. We send one confirmation and then nothing further. This works even if we hold no other record of you. You can also email support@budgetoria.com.

Cost and carriers

Message and data rates may apply and are charged by your carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported on major US carriers.

Your number stays with us

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers, or SMS opt-in consent, with any third party or affiliate for marketing purposes. Numbers are shared only with the providers that deliver the messages on our behalf, and only to deliver them.
